Which skis are the most suitable for you?

Gamas de esquí

👌 Great question! How do I know which range of skis best suits my level and skiing style?

When you consider renting ski equipment, you may not know it, but you have different equipment options. Specifically, at Esports Sant Moritz we offer you up to 5 different ranges of skis with nuances depending on your gender (female / male) and 2 options in ski material ski equipment for children.

And you could ask yourself Which skis are the most suitable for me? Why so many options? when I have rented in other stations I only had 1 or maximum 2 options… 🧐

It’s very simple, because:

1- Because our level of skiing must be associated with equipment that matches it. Otherwise we will not enjoy our snow day.

2- We do not all ski the same way – even if we have the same technical level of skiing.

3- Because renting equipment does not have to be a monotonous and unattractive experience, on the contrary. Through the ranges and types of skis you will be able to enjoy and experiment with different material conceptions.

From here, the million dollar question…. Which skis are the most suitable for me? Should I take the top one, because I’m sure I’ll have the best material?

💭 Well no, it’s not that simple, if your skiing level is not high If your level of skiing is not high, a high-end material can become a real torture – as it is a material that tends to be harder, more radical, less error-prone and more physically demanding. And yes, you will have spectacular skis, but getting the most out of them and enjoying them will be a great challenge.

💭 And the other way around, if your skiing level is high If you are aggressive in your style, if you stick with an entry-level material, you will find yourself with skis that, as we popularly say, will “fall short” – they tend to be a softer material, which when you are looking for the edge of the piste will offer you a feeling of less control. Hey!!! that does not mean that they are not a good material … but like everything in life, if you get with a utility vehicle on a circuit and look for its limits will not be the same as with a prepared vehicle.

The range best suited for the average skier 👌

Now let’s face it, the vast majority of us skiers are mid-level skiers (at least that’s what the numbers and the experts say), so even if we love the higher end skis, our sensible recommendation is to focus on the Silver/Progression skis.

This range is the second in the range ladder – and yes, we do not recommend the lowest one for a simple reason… The Silver/ Progression range are skis with a more advanced constructionThe new ski is a great ski, which will allow you to continue to enjoy its ease of riding, but with an extra bonus of grip to boost your progress as a skier. In addition these skis are practically new skis, 60% are season skis and the rest are 2 years old at the most. Thus, you will have a high quality material with an immaculate look.

Within this range we have models such as the Atomic Redster SX, Nordica Spitfire, Atomic Redster RX, Nordica GT74, Head Easy Joy.

With children 👦🧒

Okay… What about children? Well, something similar – in this case we have two ranges. The basic initiation for those who have never skied or have a very basic level and the gold range for those who already demand us to follow them in their descents.

For children there are only two ranges, because when children grow up and become teenagers, it is more appropriate to rent them adult material in small sizes. Both the ski and the binding will fit your ski better than the conceptualized ones.

For the experts 🔝⛷️

We haven’t forgotten about you… on the contrary! We drool when we see you going down the slopes, looking for the limits, throwing yourselves into the off-piste,… and we have a lot of good stuff to offer you. Specifically, we have 3 specific ranges for high-level and/or expert skiers with nuances depending on the skier’s gender. So here again, the question makes sense… which skis are the most suitable for me?

For expert skiers we offer 3 range options:

-Gold/Emotion range: where we started to introduce titanium in the construction of the skis to give them more robustness and nerve in the response in the turns 💛, with references such as the Atomic Maven, Volkl Deacon, Nordica Astral among others (rent).

-Experience Range: Here we give one more twist to our offer. And we offer you new high-end skis of the season. They are skis to “give our legs a good workout” and that will surely make us smile and sweat a few drops 🤪. Some of the references we have available are Atomic Bent, Rossignol Strato, Atomic Redster SX,… (rent)

-Exclusive range: And we come to the top of top… 🔝🔥 Beyond being high-end skis, for expert skiers and new season skiers, we add the variable that they are models of premium brands and specific for specific ski modalities – slalom, off-piste,… Here we work with brands such as Stockli and Black Crows. (rent)

You can see that choosing skis is not that simple 😉 – the question “which skis are the most suitable for me?” is not trivial… that’s why we wanted to explain in detail the different options and as always if you still have doubts our team will be happy 😍 to help you in your choice.

More skiing! More for you!
